About

Two regions. One personal connection.

Travel has been part of my life for as long as I can remember — and part of my professional life since I was 16.

Sandra Walenta

What began as an early fascination with tourism became a career that allowed me to discover this industry from almost every angle. I worked in travel agencies, hotels and at the airport. I organized journeys around the world, stood behind reception desks, learned what happens before a guest arrives and what it takes to look after them once they do.

But I also wanted to see the world for myself.

So I left Germany and began working abroad as a tour representative, spending time in Turkey, Spain and Croatia. Being on the ground changed the way I understood travel. I learned that a journey can be perfectly organized on paper, but it is the people, the local knowledge and the way someone is looked after along the way that ultimately shape how it feels.

When I returned to Germany, my path led me into incoming travel. For many years, I have been designing private journeys for international guests through Germany, Austria and Switzerland — getting to know not only the destinations themselves, but the guides, chauffeurs, hotels and local partners who can make all the difference.

And then there is Croatia.

Croatia was never simply another destination to add to a portfolio. My roots are there. It is part of my family, my language and my story. Bringing Croatia together with the countries I have spent so many years working with professionally therefore felt less like expanding a business and more like bringing two parts of my life together.

Today, that is exactly what I want this travel atelier to represent: the places I know professionally and the place I know personally.

I speak German, English, Spanish, and Croatian, and perhaps more importantly, I understand travel from both sides — from the careful planning that happens long before arrival to everything that needs to come together once a client is on the ground.

After all these years, what I love about this work has not changed. I still enjoy discovering the right place, finding the right guide, solving the complicated request, and seeing all the individual pieces of a journey come together.

Because for me, travel has never been just about where someone goes.

It is about how they feel while they are there.
